You aren’t Alone
Before moving on to the uplifting Scriptures promised in the title of this post, I would like to share some words of my own in hopes to help you see you aren’t alone.
We all go through times of suffering, dark times when it seems like there isn’t a ray of hope to break the silence of despair. Lonely times when we are heartbroken and ready to give up. Faithless times when we forget how good God has been.
I know, because I’ve been there. I’ve had doubts about my purpose in life, doubts about God’s love for me.
But time has taught me a lesson I will never forget…
Good things come to those who open their door to God.
God never promised us a life without troubles. Trials will come, especially upon those seeking to live a righteous life. And sometimes it has nothing to do with that.
It could be that we’ve gotten ourselves into a mess because we’ve made bad choices. We refused to listen to wise counsel. Hardened our heart against God, against what we knew was best but thought we could live without.
Whatever the cause of discouragement, none of us are beyond the reach of God. It’s possible to come out of the darkness. Possible to change. Possible to turn your life around and reap a harvest of happiness. Possible to feel warmth again.
Do you have bad habits you need to break? Thoughts you shouldn’t entertain? Friends you shouldn’t keep? An occupation that doesn’t serve God? Dreams that are self-centered?
Unless you let these things go, you will remain where you are. Unchanged.
Sure, you can hold on to such things and feel some sense of pleasure. But how long will that feeling last before you crash and burn? God wants to give you beauty for ashes. Why cling to dead things?
If you are willing to listen, God will show you a better way. He will give you strength to rise above the giants standing in the way of progress. God will put a new song in your heart; He will make your life echo a joyful sound.
Believe in God’s word and be transformed!
It is my prayer that the following uplifting Scriptures will be an anchor of hope to your soul.
Uplifting Scriptures to Comfort and Encourage
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not be afraid, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with their swelling.”
“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me. You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of My enemies, and Your right hand will save me.”
“Cast your burden on the LORD, and He will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.”
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
“Wait on the LORD; be of good courage, and He will strengthen your heart. Wait, I say, on the LORD.”
