Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
— 2 Corinthians 5:17
Why think about the sins of your past when you’ve already confessed them to God? What good will it do? It will only conjure up feelings of guilt and discouragement—stuff you’re not supposed to have in Christ.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you shouldn’t feel remorse for sinful behavior. You should if you’re still doing those things. But if you aren’t, why behave like you’re standing in court before a judge awaiting a life sentence?
Accept the new life Jesus has given you. Don’t dwell on the past. It won’t change a thing. Instead, live in the present, and look forward to the great things God has in store for you. Enjoy your new life in Christ!
But if you aren’t in Christ, then what are you waiting for? Not only is He willing to forgive you for every wrong you’ve done, He will change your life forever. Moreover, He will be right there by your side every step of the way—helping you to overcome the world.
