“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 3:13-14 KJV
It’s not for us to seek to prosper in this world, but to prosper in Jesus Christ. Just because things don’t appear to be working out in ways that you had hoped they would, that doesn’t mean God isn’t working to bring about changes within your life to usher you into a brighter future. There’s a tendency to base our judgment of quality of life on what we see in the present. But we mustn’t forget that we haven’t reached the end of our journey yet. In other words, things won’t always be as they are. Our experience will ultimately get better, as long as we continue to believe in Jesus Christ.
Walking with God is all that really matters. If you are doing that then you can be sure to know that your life is in good hands. That is, no matter what happens, God is in control of your future, and you don’t need to worry about a thing. It’s simply a matter of walking by faith, not by sight. But will you believe? Are you ready to take that next step? Jesus is calling you to higher ground. He has something better prepared for you up ahead. Leave all of those worries behind and start stepping toward it. Receive the gift that He wants to give you. Embrace His love. He is the Blessed Hope, and will not disappoint those who remain hopeful in Him.
