You’ll Never Know Unless You Give Like Jesus

Give, and it will be given to you in good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing into your lap. For with the same measure you give, it will be measured back to you. (Luke 6:38)

And let us not become weary of doing good. For in due season, we will reap, if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)

You’ll never know what it means to be like Jesus unless you walk as He walked. Indeed, you can read about Jesus in the Bible, but knowing facts about Him isn’t the same as having a personal relationship with Him. You must be just as committed to doing the will of the Father as He was. You must love like Him!

When Jesus reached out to people, it wasn’t His intent to take but to give; and He gave generously, not expecting to receive payment for His work. His reward is our salvation. He delights in ushering happiness into our lives, and takes immense pleasure in ministering to our needs. Do you find pleasure in ministering to others in this way? Better yet, are you doing your part to minister to others?

Make it your life’s work to be a blessing to others. Don’t wait for opportunities to do something good to fall on your lap; take the initiative to give freely from the infinite storehouse of God’s love, and God will satisfy your needs in the process.

Do you think God won’t bless you if you bless others? Do you think God won’t meet your needs if you give something up to help the needy? When God asks us to give, He’s not looking for excuses, but faith. How great is your faith in God? Stop making excuses not to give and you will see how great a provider God is!

But this I say, he who sows sparingly will reap sparingly; and he who sows generously will reap generously. Let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not begrudgingly, or by compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God can make all grace abound toward you, so that, in all things, you will always have what you need, and may abound in every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:6-8)
