It seems it has become popular to
say, “Jesus hates religion.”
But is that godly admonition?

Religion: contrary to what many believe,
the word itself isn’t evil;
it’s the rotten stuff people put in it
that caused it to lose its appeal.

True religion shows itself in helping the needy
and feeding the poor,
I wonder; Are you who hate religion,
opening that door?

Moreover, true religion is about living
A pure and holy life;
but you can’t do that while
causing strife.

Do you think you will gain a soul
for Christ by winning a debate?
Will that stop the hate?

The race is won by love;
but you can’t get that
except from our Father above.

Take care in how you judge
what you see,
for not all is what it
appears to be.

Just because someone speaks a good line,
that doesn’t mean their message is
connected to the Divine.

I don’t know who you are
or where you’ve been.
But this I can tell you,
Jesus will make all things new,
if you let Him in.

Of course, it’s not about working our
way into heaven.
But if you’re working in order to
receive an applause, then you
aren’t working for the right cause.

Don’t just talk a good talk, but walk as
He walked.
