The Sound of the Trumpet

“Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying…” (Jeremiah 1:4 NKJV)

I can’t help but think about how our world is on the verge of being ushered into a state of utter chaos; it’s virtually falling apart on every side! And yet, many people have been and are being deceived into believing that we’re going to overcome this mess–that the economy will rebound and all will be well if we would but believe in change.

My question is how could any Bible believing Christian think like this for even but a moment? That is, how could they think that everything is going to get better if we just simply believe in something that a man has to sell us, especially when it doesn’t even agree with the Bible?

Listen, God has made it very clear in His Word that life as we know it will come to an end.  For, His wrath will be poured out upon the world and Jesus Christ will rule the nations forever and ever. And there’s nothing that anyone can do to stop this from happening!

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 19:11-16 NKJV)

Amen and Amen!

You know, I sometimes wonder if certain people within the Church even believe in the second coming anymore. It’s as though they’re blind and can’t see the signs of the times. In fact, some of them even ignorantly perceive every revelation of light that shakes the foundation of their worldly hopes and dreams to be a conspiracy theory. How foolish it is to think like this! Do they think that by ignoring the facts that the face of evil will change?

Beloved, what do you really want from God?

I’m asking you this question because a lot of people refuse to take an honest look at it. Sure, a lot of people within the Church would say that they want what God wants for them; but they certainly don’t think or speak or live like they do.

Such was the case during the time of Jeremiah. For, when the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the people were living it up so to speak. They did as they pleased and thought that they were blessed for it, simply because they associated themselves with the name of God.  But God was displeased with them because they forsook Him for idols.  As a result of this God eventually brought judgment down on them by allowing them to be subdued by their enemies. Of course, He didn’t let this happen without first warning them of the impending doom that was about to befall them. He gave them an opportunity to make their lives right with Him. But they refused to listen to what He had to say and continued to do evil in His sight.

And now God is sounding the trumpet of warning again.  He is about to pour out His judgment; except this time it will be poured out upon the world. God is giving people everywhere an opportunity to embrace His message. The LORD is speaking to us today.

Are you listening? Are you really searching for Him with all of your heart?  Or are you, like those who claimed to be His people during the time of Jeremiah, going after other gods while deceiving yourself into believing that you’re serving Him?

Brethren, the trumpet of warning is sounding. God has a message for His Church. Will you hear it or will you choose to listen to your heart instead?

Don’t be deceived by superficial signs of economical improvement! Indeed, the devil is a liar and a master of deception and manipulation. He has employed many to try to convince you that things will change for the better if the world unites in working together to achieve peace through ecumenism. Be forewarned however: that when they say,

“Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5:3 NKJV)

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. (2 Timothy 4:3-4 NKJV)

The time of the end is drawing nigh. Awaken to your responsibility to answer to your calling and sound the Trumpet of Warning.
