Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. (Matthew 16:24 NKJV)
The journey of faith isn’t about going where you think you’ll feel the best, but about moving in the direction of where Christ wants to take you. In other words, it’s about allowing Jesus to order your steps. Not some of the time, but always.
You see, Jesus doesn’t just want a moment of your time. He wants to reshape your life for eternity. And because what He has to offer is better than anything you could ever hope to obtain on your own, it would be wise to do what He says.
Taking the right path won’t always be easy. You’ll face many hardships along the way. But receiving the best in life requires living in complete obedience to God’s will. There’s no other way to happiness. But as long as you continue to lean on your own understanding, you’ll keep moving further away from the best God desires to give you.
Don’t make the mistake of looking for an easy way out. It doesn’t exist. The broad way leads to destruction and is the source of many sorrows. But the narrow way leads to life more abundant!
Do you really want the best in life?
Follow Jesus.
