A Time of Refreshing is Coming

Are you losing hope? Is there some area in your life where your faith in God is diminishing? I don’t know what your circumstances are, but one only needs to open the Bible to see how God has repeatedly turned tragedy to triumph. Take Job, for example, he went through a great deal of suffering, both emotional and physical, as a result of what Satan did to him. It even got to the point where Job wished he hadn’t been born (see Job 3:1-9). No doubt, he experienced immense loss; yet he endured to the end. As a result, God gave him twice as much as he had in the beginning (see Job 42:10). Indeed, Job experienced the delight of deliverance, because he persevered. That wouldn’t have happened if he had given up.

Jesus never said life would be easy. To the contrary, He said we would suffer for our faith (see John 16:33). But He also said that those who endure to the end will be saved (see Matthew 24:13). The idea of enduring to the end suggests that we will go through many trials. But we aren’t going through them alone. For Jesus promised, “I am with you always, even to the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20). Jesus doesn’t want to see you perish, but desires to give you a more abundant life. For you are dear to Him, so much, that He gave His life for you. You should value Him just as much by living for Him.

Brighter days will come, my friend. You aren’t going through hardship because God doesn’t care, but because He’s growing your faith (see James 1:2-4). God wants you to learn to depend on Him more and more. Let Him teach you what you need to know. Don’t let the woes of the world choke the life out of you, but behold the rainbow of promise God has stretched out before you: “Fear not, for I am with you; nor be dismayed, for I am your God. Surely, I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10). Claim this promise by believing it. God hasn’t given up on you. Don’t give up on Him. Endure to the end. A time of refreshing is coming!
