Many people have been led to believe that the command to keep the Sabbath day holy is no longer applicable to Christians. In fact, people have come up with all kinds of interesting arguments to try support this view. But I’ve discovered that these arguments, for the most part, are primarily based on Scripture that has been taken out of its context. This series of lessons is designed to address these arguments.
No doubt, this is a sensitive topic for many, but I feel we should be mature in our investigation of truth claims. Thus, we need to be willing to allow our faith to be questioned, and provide a sound reason for the hope that is in us (1 Peter 3:15). After all, how will we ever grow into the person that Yeshua wants us to become if we put up walls around us, shutting people out of our lives whom God may want to use as a means to enlighten our understanding?
Therefore, my request to you is that you would take what I’m about to share with you seriously, pray about it, and examine it in the light of the Holy Scriptures (the Bible). If you see something that’s hard to accept, don’t be quick to throw it out because it doesn’t agree with what you’ve always been taught to believe, or because your pastor doesn’t agree with it, but take a moment to ask me a question and/or submit an objection. I will gladly respond to you as best as I can.
Test everything by the Word of God.
