Biblical Prosperity
“Who is the man that fears the LORD? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses. He himself shall dwell in prosperity, And his descendants shall inherit the earth. The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant.” – Psalms 25:12-14 NKJV
When it comes to the concept of prosperity many fail to understand what the Scriptures really have to say about the subject. They assume that prosperity is a sign of God’s blessing. Yet what do you do when someone is prospering while living in rebellion against God? According to the Scriptures God doesn’t bless the wicked, but only those who listen to His voice. And what about people who have been subjected to a life of poverty, showing no signs of being prosperous in the things that belong to this world; are we to believe that they aren’t blessed simply because they are poor? What if they are serving God faithfully; does lack of prosperity in materialistic things suggest that their hearts aren’t right with God?
Indeed, prosperity preachers have no choice but to face the problems that their shallow theology poses. For they fall desperately short in their understanding of what really constitutes prosperity according to the Scriptures. And that is why I have created this page; that is, to provide you with articles dealing with the subject of prosperity and what the Scriptures really say about it. You see, I have come to understand that biblical prosperity is not about wealth building or accumulating materialistic things; it’s about holy living. In other words, it’s about prospering in the righteous works of God, and carrying out His will for our lives. With that said, I hope that your time here will prove to be prosperous in that your life will be deeply enriched as you reflect on these things.
