Not a Burden, but a Blessing

By this we know that we love the children of God, whenever we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome. (1 John 5:2-3 MKJV)

Children tend to drag their feet when asked to do household chores, thinking of them as too burdensome to carry out. Sometimes, God’s children behave the same way when it comes to keeping His commandments. Shouldn’t we find pleasure in holiness? Indeed!

It’s not an inconvenience to obey God, but a privilege. Keeping His commandments is not a burden, but a blessing. Those who do not want to keep God’s commandments are not His children. They may say they are, but how could they be when they live in opposition to His will?

How much you value God’s commandments will determine how much you love Him.
