People often say that unless you’ve been in their shoes you don’t understand what they’re going through—as if to suggest you can’t give them good advice because you aren’t experiencing their pain. But you don’t need to be in a person’s shoes to tell them where they need to walk. And they really don’t need you to experience their trouble to get help. What they need is love!
