Forget About The Applause

And those who are wise shall shine as the brightness of the sky; and those who turn many to righteousness shall shine as the stars forever and ever. (Daniel 12:3 MKJV)

There are many who crave attention, desiring to stand in the spotlight in hopes of receiving an applause. They consider themselves wise, but they have chosen a fool’s fate. They think they’re born leaders, but they haven’t learned the most important lesson of leadership: they haven’t learned how to be a servant. What else are they doing but a vain thing? And where else are they leading people but to a place of vanity?

True leaders are meek and lowly in spirit. They’ve got nothing to prove except to show you how you can improve yourself. They’re not looking for a following but a helping hand to assist them in their quest to build a future of hope and promise for all people. Most importantly, they know Jesus.

The mark of a true leader isn’t as much distinguished by rank as by character. Focus on being a servant. If God wants you to lead, He will open that door; but if you aren’t willing to be a servant, then don’t expect Him to make a leader out of you.
