Are You Ready?

The End of Darkness is Coming

“And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” – Luke 18:7-8 KJV

If you really want what God wants for you then don’t run away from His will. The problem that I see with a lot of people these days is that they don’t measure the high calling of the gospel aright; that is, they don’t count the cost of discipleship. Instead, they call what they assume to be best for themselves the will of God, while not taking the time to really listen for His voice. Thus they lean on their own understanding and embrace evil as though it were something good.

Indeed, the stain of sin is on the surface of virtually everything these days; and rather than letting God remove it people lap it up like dogs returning to their own vomit. Many think that they are rich and have need of nothing, but do not know that they are wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked. They think that they’re walking with Jesus; but what they’re really doing is playing the harlot with the devil, pridefully making a messiah out of the riches of this world while forgetting the meekness of Jesus Christ.

Listen, Jesus never promised that life in this world would be rosy. And He never said that there wouldn’t be any trials for those who believe in Him. To the contrary, the Bible says that “all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” (2 Timothy 3:12 KJV). So why think that something strange is happening when you go through periods of hardship? It is to be expected. God’s people will go through times of trouble before Jesus returns. In fact, the trials that many are now facing are only minor in comparison to what is coming. Seeking to prosper in this world in order to escape trouble will not equip you for what is to come; rather, we must seek to prosper in Jesus Christ, as He is the one who will give us the strength that is needed to resist evil. Those who put their trust in the things of this world will perish with the things of this world, but those who cast their cares on Jesus will be triumphant.

It’s time to get serious about God; it’s time to fall in line and pledge our allegiance to Jesus Christ; and if need be, we must be ready to shed our blood for His glory. No, I’m not talking about going out and committing acts of violence against the enemy that would result in putting our lives in peril; for those who do that will not prevail.

“He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.” – Revelation 13:10 KJV

“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” – Revelation 14:12 KJV

It is not the will of God for us to be violent, but to be peacemakers. Therefore let’s hit the devil where it really hurts: by keeping the commandments of God and sharing the faith of Jesus Christ we will overcome the world; and no weapon that is formed against us will prosper! Of course, the enemy will seek to destroy us on every level, even taking the lives of many; but he will never be able to pluck us out of the hand of Jesus!

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” – John 10:27-29 KJV

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” – Matthew 10:28 KJV

“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” – Romans 12:19-21 KJV

Indeed the KING of kings and LORD of lords is coming! Are you ready?
