But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33 MKJV)
I don’t want to discourage you from pursuing your dreams; it’s good to set goals for yourself. However, I’ve learned an important lesson in life about dreaming. Dreams don’t always come true. You can work hard in hopes to bring them to fruition, but that doesn’t mean you’re going to get what you want. Having good intentions isn’t a guarantee that life is going to work out according to your plans. In fact, even if you do get what you want, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to be satisfied with it.
Nevertheless, if you seek God’s will first and foremost in everything, you will find happiness. For He always gives us what is best. Of course, people don’t always see it that way in the beginning, but eventually they come to realize it. Thus, they find their true purpose in life, as they begin to live their lives to the fullest in Christ, enjoying His presence each step of the way. Indeed, there’s no better place to be than in God’s will!
What are you seeking to do with your life? If you want the best life has to offer, then you’re going to have to set aside your plans and listen to God. You won’t find happiness anywhere else.
