And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, for those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)
One day, someone who was troubled, expressed concern to me about how he noticed that ever since he’s been walking closer to Jesus, more and more doors have been closing on him. No doubt, this could cause some to believe they’ve made a mistake by following Jesus, for they may be tempted to think He isn’t paying attention to their needs, or that He doesn’t care about their future. Is that the case? Does Jesus care?
If doors are closing because you’re walking with Jesus, praise God for it! Too many open doors could lead to confusion, while a closed door could give you greater clarity in knowing which way to go next. Eventually, it will all work out in your favor, providing you remain faithful to God. So, don’t look at a closed door in a negative way; rather, see it as a sign leading to better things. If it weren’t for that door being closed, you might not know which direction to take. Would you want to enter a place where you shouldn’t be? How would that help you? It would only hinder you from being where you need to be.
Therefore, don’t think about how many doors have closed on you; rather, focus on Jesus. Seek His guidance in everything, asking Him to give you patience while waiting for His answer. Remember, Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life…” (John 14:6). There’s no such thing as moving in the wrong direction while following Jesus; He’s always right!
